News

My most common source of news nowadays is CNBC. They’re generally considered “mainstream” and are subject to a lot of the same trappings that most news media falls into. However, they are far less polarized towards one narrative then say, Fox News for example. They’re also pretty popular, so odds are, I'll see whatever they have to say while im doing something else, and end up being relatively well informed.

One of my favorite sources of news that I will actively go out of my way to find is Associated Press. They are a non profit, independent organization that gives reliable and timely info on current events.

Reuters is another one of my favorites. They’re an international organization, so they’re not particularly biased towards any one country and its brand of politics. One thing that stands out about them is how reliable they are when it comes to economic news, have people all over the world to gather data.

One very interesting news source that I enjoy is FAIR. While they do provide their own reports that are very reliable, their primary motive is to scrutinize more mainstream media sources for their biases and polarizing stand points. They are very left leaning in terms of bias, but that in my opinion is a result of them calling out the many controversies of the currently right leaning administration.

FAIR — FAIR is the national progressive media watchdog group, challenging corporate media bias, spin and misinformation.

One final very good course of news is ProPublica. They are also a non profit organization, but their primary method is more focused on investigative journalism, and whistleblowing. Their information is mostly first hand accounts, and they’re not partially biased towards anyone side
